Moms hugging in the stands at a football game? That’s “so high school” – but fans of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce love it.

During the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Kansas City on Sunday, September 15, fans had their eyes on 34-year-old Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium. In the past, many loyal Swifties have caught a glimpse of the tight end’s girlfriend there and even spoken to her.

The pop icon, also 34, was actually at the game and brought a guest with her: her mother, Andrea Swift. Fans zoomed in on their phones and saw Andrea tenderly hugging Donna Kelce, the mother of her daughter’s boyfriend.

In the 13-second video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), the two mothers are seen sharing a warm embrace after Swift calls her mother over to chat with her and Donna. Andrea had already shown her approval of Travis by wearing a button that read “In My 87 Era,” referencing both Travis’ jersey number and her daughter’s Eras concert tour.

Fans loved the sweet interaction, including Star Wars actor Mark Hammill, who commented on the video post with #ILoveTaylorSwift. One X-user, always quick to drop a lyrical reference, wrote, “Our mamas smiled and rolled their eyes,” a reference to Swift’s early love ballad “Mary’s Song (Oh my, my, my).”

Swift performed “Mary’s Song” during one of her shows in Amsterdam as part of a mashup that Swifties interpreted as a tribute to their friend. The end of the song includes the lyric “I’ll be 87 you’ll be 89,” which was given new meaning by Kelce’s number 87 jersey.

Also in the suite alongside Swift and the Kelces were Danielle and Este Haim from the band Haim and Swift’s brother Austin. The two mothers, who could one day become in-laws, were the center of attention online. “Mom power!” wrote one such fan.
