As Page Six learns, Taylor Swift’s team is angry.
On Thursday, The Athletic — the celebrated sports website not exactly known for breaking celebrity news — revealed to its readers that Swift would attend her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL season-opening game against the Baltimore Ravens, citing “a source briefed on security procedures at Arrowhead Stadium.”
A source told Page Six that Swift’s people were upset about the leak.
“She is under the protection of the president,” says our source. “According to Austria, her security company is not very happy that her whereabouts have become known.”
In August, the CIA learned of a terrorist attack on Swift’s tour stop in Vienna, forcing her to cancel three shows and put her security team on high alert.
According to our source, there is speculation that the NFL team leaked the news, possibly to attract more viewers to Thursday’s big game.
“We’ll be prepared for them and of course welcome them with open arms,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said in an interview with Front Office Sports about Swift’s return to his stadium this season.
“She brings a lot to the table and it’s a pretty valuable, targeted audience when you look at the makeup of her fan base,” Donovan said. “And we looked for ways we could be respectful.”
He added: “We’re not trying to capitalize on it. We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown or anything like that.”
Swift famously entered one of the games in disguise through the front gate.
In February, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt spoke about having Swift at games on SiriusXM, saying, “Obviously, any place she goes is a security risk. We’ve helped her security team deal with that when she comes to games in Kansas City, and I know the visiting teams we’ve played this year that she’s shown up to have had to do the same thing.”
“She has a really talented security team,” he continued. “They work with our security team and we make sure she gets in and out of the stadium safely.”
During the season opener, Swift watched from a private suite with Kelce’s parents.
Swift and Kelce later celebrated his team’s victory at a private party at local bar Prime Social, Page Six exclusively reported.
