Taysom Hill is out for the Saints-Eagles game

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Saints will face the Philadelphia Eagles today at noon at the Caesars Superdome.

Taysom Hill has officially been ruled out of the win over the Dallas Cowboys due to a lingering chest injury. Also inactive are wide receivers Bub Means and AT Perry, quarterback Spencer Rattler, defensive tackle Khalen Saunders and linebacker D’Marco Jackson.

Marshon Lattimore, who missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury, participated fully in practice on Friday and is expected to return.

On the Eagles side, receiver AJ Brown as well as quarterback Tanner McKee, cornerback Eli Ricks, linebacker Devin White, tackle/guard Darian Kinnard, guard Trevor Keegan and defensive tackle Byron Young are not active.

The Saints are in top form following their dominant wins over Dallas and Carolina and will look to maintain that momentum as they seek their third straight win and their first 3-0 start since 2013.

SAINTS HEADLINES

Although Hill’s absence shifts the workload on offense, some key factors still work in the Saints’ favor.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had success against New Orleans in the past, totaling over 300 passing yards and 175 rushing yards with multiple touchdowns in two previous wins. The Saints defense, led by linebacker Willie Gay and defensive ends Carl Granderson and Chase Young, has been instrumental in pressuring quarterbacks so far, and their ability to disrupt Hurts in the backfield will go a long way in slowing down the Eagles offense.

The Saints’ running game, led by Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams, has been outstanding. Kamara has racked up nearly 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while Williams provides a powerful counterweight. With the Eagles allowing an average of 157.5 rushing yards per game, the Saints will look to exploit Philly’s defensive gaps on the ground.

Derek Carr has been brilliant on offense for the Saints, completing 77 percent of his passes and distributing the ball to multiple targets. The Eagles’ secondary presents a challenge, but Carr’s ability to find playmakers will be critical to New Orleans’ passing success.

The Saints faithful will be desperate to see their team continue their strong start, and an early lead could excite the crowd and tip the balance in their favor. A fast start and the energy of the crowd could make the game a one-sided affair for New Orleans.
