A Texas duo was arrested in connection with a $1 million theft from a Texas Walmart.

The suspects in the grand theft – Ryan Munoz and Carmelo Amigleo, both 18, of San Angelo – were arrested without incident on Sunday. The two are accused of stealing more than $1 million worth of merchandise from a Walmart over the course of a year, according to San Angelo police.

Police have not said whether the theft involved money, goods or both. press conference At the release on Monday, SAPD Chief Travis Griffith said the million dollars were stolen by “employees,” but did not confirm whether the two suspects were Walmart employees.

The investigation began on July 24 after police received a tip that a large-scale theft had occurred at the Walmart in San Angelo. On July 28, detectives found evidence at nearby homes and issued search warrants for the two men, who were arrested shortly thereafter.

In a press conference After his release on Monday, Griffith asked local citizens to provide anonymous information about the ongoing case.

“The safety and well-being of our community remains our highest priority and SAPD will continue to investigate any additional leads in this case,” SAPD wrote in a press release.

Bail was set at $350,000 for Munoz and Amigleo, but both remain in jail.
