Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears Player of the Game: Tony Pollard

The Tennessee Titans opened their season on the road against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. The Titans started the game strong and looked good in the first half, going into the locker room with a 17-3 lead.

Unfortunately, the Bears came out of the locker room with more firepower than the Titans, scoring 21 unanswered points to win the game 24-17.

Despite the Titans’ loss, one player stood out from the crowd and was named this week’s player of the match: Tony Pollard.

Pollard ran 16 times for 81 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 12 yards. He was responsible for the second most yards on the team, only Will Levis was better.

This was Pollard’s debut game with the Titans. He spent the previous five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, where he rushed for 3,621 yards on 762 carries, rushed for 23 touchdowns and dropped the ball just twice. Pollard joined the Titans during free agency to add experienced players to back up Levis in his second season, and he was instrumental in the Titans’ offensive efforts today.

As an experienced dual-threat running back, Pollard is a reliable option for Levis on almost every play, as long as he can pass the ball to Pollard without losing it.
