As the cameras panned to their cageside seats, Crawford was mistakenly identified as Grammy-winning musician Lamar – much to the disbelief of both fans and fighters.

“Terence Crawford turned into Kendrick Lamar tonight,” former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling wrote on X.

Crawford, meanwhile, took it in his stride and posted a screenshot with the caption: “Damn, Kendrick Lamar,” accompanied by two laughing emojis.

One supporter even joked that this mistake was worthy of a termination: “Calling Bud Crawford @kendricklamar is insane. A termination worthy offense.”

But Dana White saw it differently. “But he kind of looked like Kendrick Lamar, so let’s not mess around,” said the UFC president in his post-fight press conference.

While Crawford watched Merab Dvalishvili strip Sean O’Malley of the UFC bantamweight title, his rival Canelo Alvarez defended his WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight belts against Edgar Berlanga three miles away at the T-Mobile Arena.

Crawford has been eyeing a fight with Canelo for some time and challenged the Mexican superstar following his dominant win on Saturday night.

“Yo Turki, tell them we’re going after Canelo next,” Crawford said in an Instagram Live while sitting next to HE Alalshikh.

“Yes,” HE Alalshikh replied. “Let’s go! Canelo, come on. We’re ready.”

Crawford then added, “You heard that from him. Just bring me in, bitch.

“Canelo-Crawford, the biggest fight in boxing. But we still remain ready.”

“We stay ready, so we don’t have to get ready.”

Canelo has stated that he plans a rematch against Dmitry Bivol next, provided he defeats Artur Beterbiev on October 12.

The former pound-for-pound king doesn’t seem particularly interested in the fight due to the weight difference between the two, but insists he will take on the undisputed two-weight champion if the money is right.

Canelo Alvarez mocks Terence Crawford as he questions fight caused by weight shift

“I think Crawford is – don’t get me wrong – a great fighter, but for me in my weight class it’s an easy fight,” Alvarez said on Sway In The Morning.

“Easy money for me. If the money is right, I’m in…

“There are weight classes for a reason. I know in his head he thinks he can do whatever he wants because he’s a very talented fighter, a very good fighter.

“I like the way he fights, but that’s what weight classes are for. Now he knows it.”
