The 2024 Milwaukee Jewish Food Festival will take place August 18-19 at Rotary Park

The Jewish Food Festival is preparing to return to Mequon’s Rotary Park on August 18 and 19 with an array of traditional Jewish dishes.

“We are very excited to continue the Jewish Food Festival in Mequon and showcase the diverse flavors and traditions of Jewish cuisine,” organizer Rabbi Moshe Luchins said in a statement.

During the 2024 festival, more than 7,000 people are expected to attend the two-day festival to celebrate Jewish food and culture. Here’s what you need to know about the festival.

When does the Jewish Food Festival take place?

The Jewish Food Festival takes place from August 18th to 19th. Festival times are from 12pm to 7pm on both days.

While most festivals in the Milwaukee area take place on Friday and Saturday, the Jewish Food Festival is held on a Sunday and Monday each year due to Jewish Shabbat laws observed by many believers, Sheina Luchins previously told the Journal Sentinel.

Where does the Jewish Food Festival take place?

The Jewish Food Festival will be held at Rotary Park, 4100 Highland Road, Mequon. You should enter through the Reuter Pavilion entrance. There is a one-time premium parking option for $5, valid for the entire 2024 festival, and free parking options.

What food is available at the Jewish Food Festival?

The Jewish Food Festival features a range of traditional Jewish dishes, such as pastrami sandwiches, stuffed cabbage and sweet treats like rugelach and babka. A full menu can be found here.

Is everything kosher at the Jewish Food Festival?

Yes, under the supervision of Chabad of Mequon, everything is kosher, according to the organization’s website.

What’s new at the Jewish Food Festival this year?

The interactive Shtetl, a historic Jewish town, will return to the festival with enhanced features. Visitors can explore the village designed in the style of the old European Jewish town with workshops, activities and immersive exhibitions.

Also new this year is a family-friendly foam zone.

At the festival, you can learn how to write Hebrew letters on parchment with a quill, learn the art of Sabbath candle making, and admire the making of an ancient musical horn called a shofar.

Live musicians at the Jewish Food Festival include the Maxwell Street Klezmer Trio, the Marbin Band and DJ BeGood. You can find more information about the lineup here.
