Is there anything Costco doesn’t sell? The more we learn, the more it seems like Costco has its shelves stocked with absolutely everything you could want – all high quality and at a great price. Groceries, electronics, reading glasses, clothing, and even cars are all deals that make a Costco membership seem more tempting by the day. Now you can add home goods to the list, too.

Some of the South’s most popular interior designers vouch for Costco’s home expertise. They head to this members-only center to buy items from their personal shopping lists, as well as home essentials for their clients. Designers love Costco not only for its prices, but they also share that Costco allows its members to shop for home goods like the pros: in bulk.

Meet the experts

“I am an avid Costco shopper. I not only buy all perishables there, but also home goods,” says Knauss. “As an interior designer, we primarily shop wholesale. We buy name-brand furniture and decor wholesale at a significant discount. That’s why I love Costco because that’s exactly what it offers. Costco offers high-quality, name-brand items at a significantly lower price than retail. And the best part… it’s open to the public.”

Here’s how to shop Costco’s home goods department like a pro What you buy in the grocery aisles is your business.

Candles

Knauss goes to Costco to decorate her and her clients’ homes with fragrant candles that are aesthetically pleasing. Her favorites from Costco’s assortment are CA Candle Creatives Studios and Sea & Sand candles. She loves the former for their clean, modern and minimalist look and the latter for their aromatic palette of attractive colors.

TV

In addition to meal prep supplies, Abernathy swears by Costco electronics, especially TVs. Many homeowners have multiple TVs in the house, and especially when starting from scratch, the prices can add up quickly. Costco’s wholesale prices can help ease that financial burden while still delivering quality tech.

Down duvets

“The Hotel Grand’s down duvet is good. It’s plush, soft and doesn’t retain heat, which is a big plus for me,” says Knauss, revealing another designer tip for cooling down duvets: “Sometimes I even put two of them on to make it look even fuller.”

Memory Foam Mattress Toppers

“Costco has some really good, highly rated brands,” says Knauss. “I recommend both Tempur-Pedic and Novaform, depending on your needs.”

She recommends that a mattress topper from Costco can be a great solution for those who have always wanted to try Tempur-Pedic but weren’t willing to pay the high price tag typically associated with that brand. A memory foam topper can also spruce up an old mattress you’re not ready to part with yet, or soften a mattress that’s too firm for your liking.
