Just days after the cancellation of “The Acolyte,” Star Wars fans discovered that merchandise from the series had apparently been removed from the Disney online store – and feared the worst.
At the moment, The Acolyte’s product page is completely empty. Previously, you could buy merchandise, including sweatshirts and t-shirts; now an error message appears. Other Star Wars items from other lines and series – even those that are out of stock – can still be purchased. At the moment, it seems that only The Acolyte has disappeared.
This has inevitably led some (including on Reddit) to worry that The Acolyte will soon become “lost media” – that is, removed from Disney Plus entirely.
While there are no signs of The Acolyte being removed from the streamer, Disney already pulled a high-profile original – Willow – from the series last year. Star Warwick Davis condemned the decision as “embarrassing,” while writer John Bickerstaff called it “cruel” in a now-deleted Twitter post.
Neither the cast nor crew of “The Acolyte” have yet commented on the cancellation, although fans had previously voiced their desire for the show to return with a social media campaign #RenewTheAcolyte.
Another Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, will launch on Disney Plus in December. A second season of Ahsoka is also in the works, while The Mandalorian and Grogu is the next Star Wars film and is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
