The best MLB bets today (Bet on the best offense in baseball)

The best MLB bets today (Bet on the best offense in baseball)

Sunday’s MLB action will cap off a week of baseball, with plenty of games on the schedule for us to bet on.

If you’re looking for some moves, you’ve come to the right place. I have three bets that I’m targeting as my favorites for today’s action. Let’s dive deeper.

Prediction for Tigers vs. Giants

I’m going to try to ignore the two pitchers in this game by taking the OVER. Keider Montero (5.62 ERA) and Hayden Birdsong (4.73 ERA) will face off in a game between two starting pitchers whose numbers aren’t exactly what makes me think this will be a low-scoring affair.

Even if they survive their starts, both teams will ultimately have to rely on their bullpens, which rank in the bottom half of the majors. The Tigers’ bullpen ranks 19th in ERA at 4.20 and the Giants’ bullpen ranks 23rd at 4.21.

I’m surprised the total is so low. I’m betting it OVER and crossing my fingers for a lot of runs in this interleague matchup.

Selection: OVER 7.5 (-115)

Prediction for Phillies vs. Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks lead the majors in OPS since July 1 with an impressive .871. They have been the best offense in baseball, and even if they can’t score runs against Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez, they will eventually be able to take on Philadelphia’s bullpen, which has a 5.84 ERA since July 1.

Merrill Kelly will be making his first appearance since April, so we’ll have to trust that he can immediately return to the form he showed in his first four starts, but if he can do that, the Diamondbacks are a great bet with their plus odds.

Selection: Diamondbacks +108

Mets vs. Mariners Prediction

I understand that the Mariners pitch fantastically and haven’t allowed a run to the Mets in two straight games, but I can’t justify putting them as favorites against a team like New York. Don’t let the Mariners’ pitchers distract you from the fact that they only have a .216 batting average since July 1.

It’s hard to stay consistently victorious with such a low batting average, and I’m sure that will be their undoing tonight as they try to complete the sweep of the Mets. New York gets a point back on Sunday Night Baseball.

Selection: Mets +120
