I’m often late. Sometimes it’s my fault – I misjudged the traffic or tried to send one last email before running out the door. Sometimes it’s the fault of other household members, like the dog.
However, I have learned that I have to get there early if I want to get the best bargains at ALDI.
Having shopped at ALDI all my life and even written a book of ALDI recipes, I know the salespeople in my favorite stores. One of the salespeople told me a secret: ALDI must sell all its meat, fish and seafood the day before the best-before date.
Every evening, someone puts a price on everything that is close to its best-before date so that the best bargains are available the next morning. In order to get the most perishable products out of the store, meat and fish are offered at up to 50 percent off.
