The bocce competition in City Park is getting more exciting | News, Sports, Jobs

IRON MOUNTAIN – With bocce season coming to a close, things heated up at the Ray Mariucci Bocce Complex as bocce league action continued this week.

In the men’s league on Tuesday, Bimbo’s maintained the lead and finished the game with 20 points. While Bimbo’s pulled away, second place was up for grabs. Covenant Church 2 was able to add three points to its tally and finished the game with 16 points. Four Seasons was second last week and is currently in third place with 15 points.

Best Shot Billiards, currently in fourth place, finished with 12 points, while Polly’s finished the week with 11 points. Covenant Church 1 and DC both finished with 10 points. Ball Busters (8 points) and Yooper Doopers (6 points) followed closely behind.

Covenant Church maintained its lead in the mixed league on Wednesday, ending the week with 26 points. Gasperini Property Services followed closely behind with 25 points, while ALL Season Mini Storage steadfastly defended third place with 20 points.

The Fun Ones (19 points), The Rolling Stones (18 points), The Rolling Fossils (16 points), Happy Rollers (16 points), The Cheeseballs (13 points), Bella Nona (11 points), The Ragazza’s (11 points), The Spigs (11 points), Mulka & Sons (8 points), The Benders (5 points) and Sassy Seniors (3 points) completed the competition.

There was more movement in the men’s league on Thursday, where Fleming Construction further consolidated its lead and finished the week with 20 points.

After coming in third last week, Sol Blu increased its total score to 18 points, putting it in sole possession of second place. Erikson added two points to its total score on Thursday, taking third place with 17 points. Harris (12 points), Forever Tails (9 points), Carey Design (8 points) and Acuren Inspection (7 points) also participated.
