The cheapest cities in the UK to rent an apartment

Stoke-on-Trent is the cheapest city in the UK for renters when it comes to apartment rental, with the average rental cost being £489.22 ($655) per month, new data shows.

Financial advisory firm The Advisor Coach has analyzed the UK’s most populous cities to find out where tenants can rent an apartment most cheaply.

The analysis was based on prices for one- and three-room apartments both in the city center and outside the city.

Stoke-on-Trent offers renters the lowest housing prices: one-bedroom apartments outside the city centre cost £376.67, while three-bedroom apartments in the city centre cost an average of £593.33 per month.

In second place is Bradford with average rental costs of £537.95 per month for an apartment.

The average monthly rent of £443.12 for a one-bedroom apartment in the city centre is the lowest in the UK.

Bradford also has the third cheapest monthly rent for a three-bedroom apartment in the city centre, with an average cost of £692.14.

Sunderland is the third cheapest city for renters, followed by Blackpool and Doncaster.

The average cost of renting an apartment in Sunderland is £568.75. For renters looking for a three-bedroom apartment outside the city centre, it is the cheapest city in the UK, with an average monthly rent of £525.

The city also offers tenants the third cheapest monthly rent of £400 for a one-bedroom apartment outside the city centre.

At the other end of the spectrum, London was the most expensive city for renters to rent a flat, with an average total monthly rent of £2,100.69 – more than four times the cost of a flat in Stoke-on-Trent.

Brighton was the second most expensive city in the UK when it came to renting an apartment. It has the second highest rent for a three-bedroom apartment in both the city centre and the outskirts.

For a three-bedroom apartment in the city centre, tenants must pay on average £2,150.88 per month, while the same type of apartment outside the city centre would cost £1,551.02.

For renters, Oxford was the third most expensive city in the UK when it came to renting a flat, with the average renter paying £1,374.18 per month, followed by Cambridge and Reading.
