The cities of Bryan and College Station host a joint workshop meeting

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – City leaders from Bryan and College Station will gather Wednesday for a joint planning and zoning commission workshop.

Joint meetings give the two cities the opportunity to discuss major projects and find opportunities for cooperation.

No action will be taken during the meeting. This is an opportunity for the two committees to ask staff questions and learn more about each project.

According to the agenda, the City of Bryan will discuss the Innovation and Western Corridor overlay districts and the Midtown zoning and overlay districts.

The City of College Station will discuss its middle-of-the-range residential zoning initiative.

A member of the College Station Planning and Zoning Commission spoke about the importance of mid-rise residential zoning at the commission’s last meeting.

“Occupancy is being maintained in a somewhat lawful manner and there are no obstructions to traffic flow that could be detrimental to emergency services, fire services, police services or the like,” said Commissioner Bobby Mirza.

The meeting will take place on August 28th at 11:30 a.m. at Bryan City Hall.
