A new 480 m² commercial building was built near Vilnius Acropolis. It houses Sportland – the expanded and modernized store offering sports and casual fashion brands. The previous premises of the store were expanded by connecting it with the new building, which resulted in an increase in the retail space to over 2,000 m² and made the store the largest and most modern Sportland store in Lithuania.

“We continue to invest in the modernization of the Akropolis shopping and entertainment center, focusing on attracting new brands that customers like and opening new and modernized stores and service points. We are pleased that the increased area of ​​the shopping and entertainment center has enabled us to choose Akropolis as the location for the largest and most modern store of the popular Sportland brand,” says Dominykas Mertinas, Head of Marketing and Communications at the Akropolis Group.

The building, designed as an extension of the shopping center’s retail area, replaced temporary structures between entrances No. 4 and No. 6 of the shopping center. Since the building permit was granted at the end of last year, the construction of the building started at the beginning of this year and lasted about 6 months. Akropolis invested about EUR 1 million in this 480 m² building.

“The successfully completed expansion of the Sportland store in Vilnius Akropolis allowed both to increase the sales area and to introduce the latest and most advanced solutions to improve the shopping experience for customers. Upon entering this store, visitors will see special LED cubes that will help them more easily understand the layout of the latest collections in the store. In addition, customers will be able to choose from the largest range of sports and casual fashion brands in Lithuania,” says Juras Vėželis, CEO of Sportland LT.

This Sportland store boasts both the largest range of goods and the largest sales area – the expanded store, covering 2,009 square meters, is the largest in Lithuania. According to J. Vėželis, the chain’s largest store in the country will offer over 54 different brands for women, men and children.

The opening events of the expanded Sportland store will take place on August 28 and 29. During the events, visitors will be able to enjoy sports entertainment and take the opportunity to prove themselves in various competitions and meet stars of various sports live. In addition, a 3×3 basketball tournament will be held in the parking lot of the shopping center near the Sportland store.

After the opening of the new building, the total area of ​​Vilnius Acropolis will be more than 110,000 m², including the retail area of ​​89,000 m². The parking lot next to the shopping and entertainment center has 3,000 parking spaces.
