The fourth season of Emily in Paris ended with a surprise for Emily – but what about the other characters?
Netflix released the second part of the fourth season on Thursday, September 12, which follows Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) decided to officially give their relationship a chance. However, their romance was short-lived as Emily always felt like the fifth wheel to Gabriel’s ex Camille (Camille Razat) who was expecting a baby.
When Gabriel learned that Camille wasn’t really pregnant, Emily continued with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) after their chance encounter. Emily spent the rest of the season putting her happiness ahead of her job, and eventually flew to Rome to spend time with Marcello.
It wasn’t long before Emily’s work caught up with her, however, and by the end of the season she was moving from Paris to Rome for good. The move offered her the opportunity to really give Marcello a chance – just as Gabriel decided to fight for her.
Elsewhere in the show, Mindy had her relationship with Nico (Paul Forman) ended when Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) tested the limits of her open marriage with Laurent (Arnaud Binard), while his secret daughter Genevieve (Thalia Besson), stayed with them in Paris.

Emily Cooper
Just a few episodes after Emily and Gabriel officially started dating, she ended the relationship because of his attachment to Camille. The Christmas episode left Emily heartbroken after she ended her relationship with Gabriel and found out that Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) moved on with someone new. However, a chance encounter with Marcello provided the opportunity to visit Rome.
As Emily’s feelings for Marcello began to grow, they faced some obstacles due to Sylvie’s involvement in his family business. Emily and Marcello were able to come to an understanding and were a couple by the end of the season. Meanwhile, in her professional life, Sylvie offered Emily the opportunity to manage her new office in Rome for the foreseeable future, which she accepted.
Mindy Chen
On her way to the Eurovision Song Contest, Mindy (Ashley Park) took on surprising jobs, such as singing in a topless bar. She also played the romantic aspect when promoting her music with Benoît (Kevin Dias), which Nico didn’t like. After a heated argument, Mindy realized that Nico resembled her father and ended the relationship.
During a visit to Rome, Mindy got the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. This led to a job offer that took Mindy away from Paris – before she met up with Emily again in Rome.
Gabriel
Emily’s decision to end the relationship caused Gabriel to back off in the second half of the season. Instead, he focused on his friendship with Camille and then on his restaurant, which finally received a Michelin star. After seeing Emily spending time with Marcello, Gabriel grew closer to Genevieve. But while Genevieve wanted to pursue a relationship, Gabriel let it be known. Instead, he realized he should fight for a future with Emily and prepared to fly over and confront her when she left her apartment with Marcello.
Sylvie
Sylvie not only got Genevieve a job at Savoir, but also her husband’s daughter. However, Sylvie’s attention turned to her marriage after she discovered that Laurent had rekindled his romance with Genevieve’s mother. Sylvie took revenge by having fun in Paris and Rome and letting Laurent know what she was up to.
Camille
The Christmas episode offered a glimpse into Camille’s family as she and Gabriel (and Emily) spent the holidays with them. After Gabriel’s breakup with Emily, Camille confessed that she wasn’t actually pregnant. However, she realized that she still wanted to be a mother. Camille suggested to Gabriel that they adopt a child, but after he turned her down, she decided to grow her family on her own.
Alfie
Emily – and the audience – caught up with Alfie briefly on Christmas Day when he revealed he had a new girlfriend and was very serious. He later made several more appearances to support Gabriel, even urging him to fight for Emily.
