It’s been a long four years since Apple removed Fortnite from its App Store, and now game developer Epic Games has created a new mobile store where iOS users can once again download Fortnite on the go.

But there is a catch.

Currently, the new mobile version of Fortnite is only available to iOS users in Europe. Android users, on the other hand, are cheering with joy because anyone with an Android anywhere can access the mobile version of Fortnite.

The announcement comes just in time, as Fortnite’s new season begins on August 16 with a collaboration with Marvel.

Is Fortnite available for iOS?

Yes, Fortnite technically runs on iOS, but only if you are in the European Union.

Epic Games and Apple have been in a legal dispute for years because Epic wants to open its own store to compete with Apple and iOS users are therefore unable to use third-party apps. Until now.

The EU’s Digital Markets Act is now in force, forcing tech giants like Apple to make changes that give competitors like Epic greater access to their specific users.

Only time will tell if iOS users in the US will be able to play Fortnite on mobile in the future.

So if you’re an Android user or a European Apple user and are looking for a way to download Fortnite to play on the go, here’s how to download it through the new Epic Games Store.

Yes, Epic Games Store is a separate app that works similarly to Steam. You can download popular games from Epic Games.

Android and EU users simply need to go to store.epicgames.com and scan the QR code at the top of the page. This QR link will take you to the installation page.

You can also find specific instructions for iOS users in the EU and for Android users on the Epic Games website.
