There are currently only two cases available for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold in the Google Store. That’s Google’s official silicone case, which comes in Aloe, Obsidian and Porcelain. And the Case-Mate Tough Case, a clear case that, at $39.99, is actually cheaper than Google’s own case.

This is a pretty small number of cases for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but it’s also not that surprising. Typically, there aren’t many cases made for low-selling devices like this one. Case makers lose money on the cases they sell. They can make up for this by selling larger quantities of these cases. And of course, many smaller case makers won’t bother making them for low-selling products. This is why we don’t see many cases for OnePlus devices outside of their own cases.

Shortly before delivery, further cases are likely to be added

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is set to start shipping next month, around September 4th. I expect more cases will be available by then. Well, yes, there are more options on Amazon. But Google offers Google Store credit, which means you’ll probably want to use that credit to buy a case from Google rather than spend your actual money on a case on Amazon. That’s where the problem lies.

There are currently a total of 8 cases for the Pixel Fold available in the Google Store. These include cases from companies like Spigen, OtterBox, CASETiFY, ZAGG, Bellroy, Case-Mate, brands, and of course Google’s own case. They are all part of the Made for Google program and I know these companies all offer cases for the Pixel 8 Pro Fold, so I’m very confident there will be more options in due course.
