The happiest convenience store in Maine strikes again

The happiest convenience store in Maine strikes again

If you happen to be passing by, you might want to buy a lottery ticket!

The Hometown Gas & Grill has now achieved legendary status after selling another high-profile ticket.

The owner, Fred Cotreau, posted on Facebook with his outdoor sign to celebrate the big win.

Oh, and he’s also looking for a kitchen helper! This seems like the perfect time to announce it, since everyone in town is probably staring at the sign as they drive by.

Lebanon, Maine, is a small town of about 6,500 residents in York County that is currently enjoying another 15 minutes of fame.

In January 2023, Hometown Gas & Grill was the store that sold the now infamous $1.35 billion Mega Millions lottery prize, and lightning struck twice when they had a million dollar winner earlier this week.

And the best part: the store receives a nice bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The interesting thing is that they open at 5am every day, so lots of people come by for morning coffee and the whole town is guessing who won the money. Also, you have to include New Hampshire in the calculation, since Lebanon is very close to the Maine-New Hampshire border.

Last year, the area and the supermarket made national headlines, but also caught the attention of people around the world.

Hometown Gas & Grill is not only a great place to stop and fill up, but they also serve delicious home cooking. Each week they have daily specials like Sloppy Joes, Chili Cheese Dogs, BBQ Ribs, Burgers and many other home cooking dishes that you can enjoy for lunch.

So if you happen to be in Lebanon, stop at 1498 Carl Broggie Highway and check out the place where people really win… oh, and buy a ticket!
