The Killers find their way home with the anthemic single “Bright Lights”

The song comes ahead of the rock band’s performance in Las Vegas to celebrate their debut album. Hot excitement

The Killers have released a new single, “Bright Lights.” The anthemic song is the Las Vegas rock band’s first new music of 2024 and announces their upcoming performance in their hometown.

The catchy, upbeat song sees frontman Brandon Flowers celebrating Vegas as he sings, “Will this endless stretch of desert road take me back to where I belong?” A music video for the single, directed by Micah Bickham, will be screened on the band’s stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The Killers’ Las Vegas residency begins August 14 and runs through September 1, marking the band’s 20th anniversary of their debut album. Hot excitement, by performing the LP from start to finish for the very first time.

All four band members — singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. — will participate in the shows. This is a rarity, as Stoermer stopped touring with the group in 2016 due to hearing problems and burnout, and Keuning dropped out between 2017 and 2020 to spend more time with his family. He returned to the group in 2021, but has been missing from several recent tours.

In December, the Killers released the compilation album Rebel Diamondswith the new song “Spirit”. Last year a new album was in the works, but they scrapped it because Flowers was tired of making synthpop records reminiscent of their earlier work.

“Halfway through the recording, I realized, ‘I can’t do this,’” Flowers said The times. “That’s the crisis I’m in. The Killers are my identity, and our songs fill seats, but I’m more fulfilled when I make music like (the sober, stripped down) Printing machine. I discovered a side of myself while writing that was strong. That was the guy I was looking for! I am just as proud of Hot excitement like you can be for something you did when you were 20, but I’m not 20 anymore. So I’m thinking about the next phase of my life.”
