The Paragould Rotary Club sets up a station for rental bicycles

PARAGOULD, Arkansas (KAIT) – The Paragould Rotary Club has installed a new bike rental rack at Rotary Park for children who want to come to the park and explore the trail by bike.

Rotary Club President Dustin Rumsey said every child should have access to a bicycle.

“Yes, the Rotary Club believes every child should have access to a bicycle,” Rumsey said. “That’s why we started the Rotary Rides bicycle project, where we set up three or four bikes here at Rotary Park that they can ride along the trail and then bring back when they’re done.”

Rumsey also says they will work on building more of them in the city.

“The parks department gave us this bike rack and they said we could probably put a few other bike racks around town, maybe in Harmon Park or right along the trail. If you don’t want to bring your bike all the way back here, you can park it at this rack,” Rumsey said.

Rumsey says the bikes they use were donated to them, and anyone who has a bike and would like to donate it should contact the Paragould Rotary Club at (870) 335-6941.

Clarification: The article originally stated that a rack for rental bikes had been installed, but Rumsey later clarified that it was a rental bike rack.
