The Scorestream widget provides score updates for all local games

CONCORD – The Mendon football team scored a lot of points Friday night. 84 to be exact.

The Hornets traveled to Concord and won the game 84-20, scoring in all four quarters, including 30 in the first, 42 in the second and six in each of the final two stanzas.

Concord actually led the game 6-0. Mendon responded with touchdowns from Owen Gorham of 51 and 13 yards. After a touchdown from Concord, Gorham scored again with a 52-yard run. JT Lux reached the end zone with a 1-yard run late in the first quarter, making the score 30-12.

Mendon scored six touchdowns in the second quarter. Lux scored the first (seven yards) before Ryder Gorham scored on a 48-yard run. Owen Gorham then ran for touchdowns of 64 and 59 yards before Xavior Zinsmaster scored on runs of 50 and five yards.

At halftime the score was 72:20.

In the second half, Cam Bingaman (three yards) and Zinsmaster (23 yards) scored touchdowns.

Mendon outscored Concord 575-262 in the game. Owen Gorham ran 12 times for 303 yards and five touchdowns. Zinsmaster ran for 79, Lux added 75 and Ryder

Owen Gorham made nine tackles, while Ryder Gorham, Grant Crotser and Alex Zagon all had seven tackles.

White Dove 65, Cassopolis 0

White Pigeon improved its record to 3-0 with a 65-0 win at Cassopolis on Friday.

The Chiefs gained 373 yards on 36 carries. Taylor Stewart led the way with 138 yards and a TD, while Jordan Pisco scored twice and rushed for 76 yards. Jase Roach scored twice on a 57-yard run, while Maddix Janscaz also scored twice and rushed for 33 yards.

Mekhi Singleton and Pisco each had four tackles, while Janscaz made three tackles.

Paw Paw 63, Sturgis 0

Paw Paw beat Sturgis 63-0 in Wolverine Conference play on Friday night. The Red Wolves scored 28 points in the first and second quarters and added seven more in the third quarter.

The Red Wolves had a total lead of 450 to -15 yards. Kaidyn Fugate was Sturgis’ best player with seven rushing yards. Beckett Lamb completed 10 passes for 45 yards.

Niles 55, Three Rivers 6

Niles defeated Three Rivers 55-6 in a preseason game on Friday night. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Three Rivers but was moved to Niles as a precautionary measure following a threat on social media.

Niles scored 20 points in the first quarter and added 28 in the second for a 48-0 halftime lead. Three Rivers’ touchdown came from Brayden Carpenter on a touchdown pass from Aidan Williams in the third quarter.

In total yards, the Vikings were ahead 489-75.

Three Rivers was led by Marshall Andrews II with 34 rushing yards, LJ Hensley added 23 yards. Williams completed four passes for 60 yards. Carpenter caught two for 59, Hensley and Lamonta Stone caught one each.

Jace Gray led the defense with five tackles, Blake Stewart made four stops. Carpenter had two tackles for loss.

Cups 46, Marcellus 40

Marcellus gave Gobles a tough game, but lost 46-40 to the Tigers on Friday night.

Parker Adams threw four touchdown passes for the Wildcats, covering 240 yards. Abram Coffey caught seven of them for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Beau Ferguson caught two passes for 41 yards, including one touchdown.

Martelle Enright also scored a touchdown after a kickoff.

Brock McWilliams led Marcellus on defense with 13 tackles.

Britton-Deerfield 40, Colon 7

Britton-Deerfield beat Colon 40-7 in 8-man football on Friday.

The Magi scored the first point of the game, a 5-yard touchdown run by Garry Lord. Britton-Deerfield then scored 40 unanswered points to win.

Britton-Deerfield outscored Colon 368-113 in the game. Lord led the Magi with 48 rushing yards. Jeremiah West completed nine passes for 100 yards. Carter Persons caught three passes for 61 yards, Jonathan Wickey caught three for 18, while Ayden Delp caught two passes and Parker Nystrom caught one.

Jonny Greenwald made 13 tackles and recovered a fumble. Wyatt Downs had 10 tackles with 2.5 for a loss. Wickey and Nystrom each had an interception and Davis Lafler recovered a fumble.

Burr Oak 56, North Adams-Jerome 12

Burr Oak improved its season record to 2-1 with a 56-12 road win at North Adams-Jerome on Friday.

The Bobcats scored three points on the ground with Austin Cole.

Ethan Boyles and Caleb Green each scored a rushing touchdown, while Cohen Miller, Braxton Boyles and Caleb Green each caught a touchdown pass. Kaje Root added a 2-point conversion.

Both Austin Cole and Green forced a fumble. Braxton Boyles recovered a fumble and also intercepted a pass.

“All of the Bobcats contributed to this win,” said coach Vince Royer. “The coaches are proud of the freshmen who are now moving up to the varsity team.”

Burr Oak hosts Tekonsha next week.
