The Sean “Diddy” Combs case live: News from the courtroom

The Sean “Diddy” Combs case live: News from the courtroom

Sean “Diddy” Combs will appear in court in New York City on Tuesday, September 17, facing federal sex crimes charges.

The 54-year-old music mogul was charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit organized crime and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, according to a federal indictment.

On Monday, Sept. 16, Combs was arrested by federal agents based on a then-sealed federal indictment, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Sources previously told PEOPLE that the arrest took place at a New York hotel.

Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo told reporters outside the courthouse on Tuesday that the star would fight the charges “with all his might.”

“He will, of course, plead not guilty,” Agnifilo added.

In the 14-page indictment, prosecutors claim that the music producer coerced several women into performing “elaborate and staged sex performances” with sex workers and described the incidents as “freak-offs.”

Combs not only orchestrated and directed the “freak-offs,” but also recorded the meetings and masturbated while watching, prosecutors allege.

In March, federal authorities raided Combs’ homes in Miami and LA after several sexual abuse lawsuits were filed against Combs.

In November last year, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against him in New York, accusing him of raping her during their ten-year relationship. The suit was settled one day after the lawsuit was filed.

PEOPLE is at the courthouse to report live on Tuesday’s developments. Follow updates below.
