The Secret Service reportedly plans to use bulletproof glass at outdoor rallies to protect Trump

According to several major media outlets, the Secret Service is making arrangements to allow former President Donald Trump to use bulletproof glass as a security precaution at future outdoor rallies.

ABC News cited “multiple sources” who confirmed that Trump will receive the protection normally reserved only for sitting presidents. NBC News claimed that transporting such glass would require military aircraft, which Trump does not have access to.

According to reports, “agents” will post the glass at various locations across the country and be responsible for guarding it.

CNN noted that the glass pane comes amid a massive increase in Trump’s security measures, including the hiring of more Secret Service agents and “technological changes.” The move requires “significant” logistical planning, a source told the broadcaster.

A Secret Service spokesman declined to comment on the details of the matter to The National Desk (TND) on Friday, but noted: “Ensuring the safety of our protected individuals is our highest priority.”

The reported treatment by the president followed President Joe Biden’s defense of his heated rhetoric against Trump. Biden on Tuesday stuck to his comments that Trump was “a real threat to American security.”

Reporters contrasted this statement with Biden’s calls to cool political rhetoric in the country following the assassination attempt on Trump.

“That’s just a statement,” Biden responded to the comment. “That’s a statement of fact.”

During that conversation, reporters also asked Biden whether he would attend a hypothetical Trump inauguration ceremony.

“I have good manners, not like him,” Biden replied, indicating that he would attend the event.

Trump did not extend the same courtesy to Biden during his ceremony in January 2021.
