The show “Ace & TJ” continues to develop after the co-host’s departure

On April 6, 1998, their morning show first aired on Charlotte radio on WNKS “Kiss 95.1.” In May 2011, the two hosts left the top 40 station and resurfaced on the city-wide WHQC “Channel 96.1” in January 2012. That relationship ended in August 2021 when the program was taken off the air. iHeartMedia station and later became a self-syndicated, wholly owned offering.

Now, “The ACE & TJ Show“ has come to an end and a new incarnation is already in the works.

In a post on the show’s Facebook page Friday morning, the following message appears:

The TJ & Riggins Show begins Monday, September 23rd. It will feature mostly the same content and products, with some new additions to be announced soon. Ace is no longer associated with the show.

Five hours after the announcement, around 2,700 Facebook users reacted to the news. In the new program, Ritchie “TJ” Beams will now work with Bryan “Riggins” Weber after David “Ace” Cannon left the team.

In Charlotte, The ACE & TJ Show has aired in afternoons on Beasley Media Group’s adult contemporary WKQC “K104.7” for the past four months, moving from its second tenure at WNKS. It replaced Phil Harris and Mel Myers as a syndicated offering, with Harris and Myers’ exit from K104.7 citing budget cuts across Beasley.

The ACE & TJ Show also airs in other Southern markets as a self-syndicated offering on stations in Birmingham, Paducah (Kentucky-Cape Girardeau, Missouri), Columbia (South Carolina), Florence (South Carolina), Greenville-New Bern (North Carolina), Greenville-Spartanburg (South Carolina), Knoxville, Louisville, Paris (Tennessee), Richmond, Springfield (Missouri) and Winchester (Virginia), according to the show’s website.
