The third annual Chicano Heritage Festival takes place Sunday in Centennial Park – Orange County Register

The City of Santa Ana’s annual Chicano Heritage Festival returns on Sunday, August 11, featuring art, music and other entertainment celebrating the rich Mexican-American culture.

“I invite everyone to come to the Chicano Heritage Festival to enjoy music, art and family-friendly fun,” Mayor Valerie Amezcua said in a statement. “As mayor, I know how important it is to have our culture and contributions recognized, and I’m excited that we can share this with the entire community.”

The third annual event features a drive-thru, numerous food options and art exhibits. The event was organized in partnership with nonprofit organization Project Kinship, which provides services and training for community members affected by incarceration, gangs and violence.

The party is guaranteed to go on all day, with musical performances from Funk Freaks, Delfonics, The McCharmlys and more.

Gates open at 12:00 p.m. Canopies are permitted in certain areas of Centennial Park. Alcohol is not permitted. All food and concession stands close at 6:30 p.m.

Parking for this event is free and available throughout the park. The main parking garage also has parking and closes at 8:30 p.m.

The Chicano Heritage Festival takes place between 2 and 7 p.m. and the park is located at 3000 W. Edinger Ave.
