The Utah Historical Society lands in Park City on August 26 on its road trip through the state

The Utah Historical Society hits the road to meet Utahns in their hometowns.

Throughout August and into September, the UHS team will host “History Happy Hour” events featuring Utah facts, activities and a sneak peek of the new Museum of Utah, opening in the Capitol Complex in 2026. At each location, the society will partner with historic sites, museums and other community groups.

The society will visit Park City on Monday, August 26, at the Park City Museum Education and Collections Center.

According to the society, Member Month is an opportunity for Utahns to deepen their connection to the state’s rich history, including the stories highlighted at the museum. All Member Month events are free and open to the public; in addition, UHS members receive a gift when they attend an event.

“Membership Month is for history lovers across the state,” says Jessica Proctor, director of development and membership for the Utah Historical Society. “This is about coming together and celebrating Utah’s rich history.”

A central part of each Members Month event is a presentation by Tim Glenn, director of the Museum of Utah. Glenn will discuss themes and content of the four permanent exhibitions: Building Utah, Becoming Utah, Connecting Utah and Inspiring Utah.

The UHS Members Month events will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., unless otherwise stated
