The WNBA playoffs are here. Here’s what you need to know as you follow them.

The eight teams with the best records in the 12-team league, regardless of division, will participate in the playoffs. The teams with the better records will play two home games in the first round in a best-of-three format. If a third game is necessary, it will be played at the other team’s home stadium.

Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever team plays at the Connecticut Sun on ABC at 2 p.m. (CT) Sunday and plays there again on Wednesday (6:30 p.m., ESPN). If a third game is needed, it would be next Friday night in Indianapolis.

Washington defeated Indiana on Thursday night in front of a record crowd of 20,711 at Washington’s Capital One Arena. Clark played just 20 minutes as Indiana didn’t overwhelm its starting lineup.

The rookie from Iowa finished her regular season with eight points and eight assists for averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds. Clark made 122 three-pointers and 337 assists, WNBA single-season records.

Indiana had a 20-20 record, its first undefeated season since 2016, the last time it made the playoffs.

The Fever lost their first three games this season to Connecticut (28-12), then beat the Sun 84-80 in Indianapolis on August 28.
