Things to know before you travel: Kansas vs. UNLV

LAWRENCE, KS – The Kansas Jayhawks return to Children’s Mercy Park to face UNLV on Friday, September 13th at 6 p.m. CT. Friday night’s game will be the blackout game for Kansas football, so fans are encouraged to wear black as the Jayhawks will be wearing their special black uniforms.

Below you will find information and links to your experiences on Matchday This includes giveaways, transportation, ticket sales, parking information, ticket access and more. If you have any questions about your Matchday experience, please call 800-34-HAWKS.

Schedule of auditions:

  • 1pm – Parking spaces open.
  • 3 p.mMatchday Fanfest presented by Electric Park at the Mazuma The plaza begins.

    • This event features music, food and drinks, tailgating games, kids activities, sponsor activities and much more. Mazuma Plaza is located on the west side of Children’s Mercy Park, off Sporting Way.

  • 3:45 p.m. – Hawk comes in Matchday Fanfest presented by Electric Park.

    • When the Jayhawks arrive at Children’s Mercy Park, the team will go through the event that will take place on Mazuma Plaza before entering the stadium to prepare for kick-off.

  • 16:30 – Gates open to all fans.
  • 18:05 – Kick-off against UNLV

Blackout T-Shirt Giveaway

Promotional gifts:

The first 2,000 students to attend the game on Friday night will receive a Kansas Jayhawks scarf. Give Way is only available at the student entrance in Budlight Brewery on the northeast side of the stadium.

In addition, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Kansas Football black falcon Jersey, as Friday night is a blackout game. Fans can pick up the special jersey at the student entrance of Budweiser Brewery, Mazuma Entrance gate to the Plaza or Hollywood Casino.

Parking map for Sporting KCPark
Parking lots open five hours prior to game time. Ticket holders who have not purchased a permit in advance may park in the Hollywood Casino parking garage near the intersection of Daytona Drive and Richmond Drive, south of Children’s Mercy Park. Access to the parking garage is on a first-come, first-served basis and a shuttle to Children’s Mercy Park will also be available.



Tickets
For the 2024 season, Kansas Football season tickets for games played at Children’s Mercy Park are now available at SeatGeek App and use the email address you provided to Kansas Athletics to access tickets on your mobile device. We strongly recommend that all ticket holders log in and ensure that they have MatchdayClick here for more information on best practices for retrieving, transferring and reselling tickets.


While the first two games at Children’s Mercy Park are sold out, season tickets for four games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium are still available and can be purchased here.

Student tickets
Students who have purchased the Sports Combo Pass are requested to check their emails to receive their ticket for the Linden wood game. The student section includes sections S1 – S9, with bands in S4 and S5, as well as unique standing areas on the north side of the venue. The first 2,000 students will receive an exclusive Kansas football jersey, courtesy of the Kansas Lottery. Student Sport Combo Passes are still available and include access to home games for the football and men’s basketball teams. Click here for more information or to purchase your pass.



Concessions and amenities
Children’s Mercy Park offers a variety of food outlets including: Brat & Bräu, Kickin’ Chicken, El Capitan, American Royal, State Line Burger, Kan-za City Pizza Co. and Shield Club South Grill. A full list of locations and products can be found here.


Children’s Mercy Park is known for providing unique, personalized and memorable experiences for its fans. The venue is cashless and only allows clear bags measuring 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller. Fans should be prepared to open their bags for inspection and may be asked by security personnel to move and possibly remove the contents. All bags are subject to search and this inspection is considered a condition of entry.
