I originally came across the Novoo brand when I was looking for a USB-C charger that could charge a phone and laptop at the same time, but was also compact and, most importantly, affordable. I ended up buying the Novoo RG67 from Amazon Australia (I live in Sydney) for AU$28.79 (listed for $25.99 in the US and £19.99 in the UK) – a bargain at the time. I was initially excited by its small size, high power, dual USB ports and included cable.
But reality caught up with us pretty quickly, because shortly after purchase, the RG67 showed critical defects, such as overheating and a drop in power from 67W to 45W under prolonged load. The small charger quickly fell out of favor compared to the best from Anker, Belkin and Ugreen.
Then Novoo released a new model – the 67W RG68. It is a bit longer, but also slimmer, has three USB ports, incl. two USB cable and is selling at a temptingly low price of just $18.99 / £26.99 / AU$39.99 on Amazon at the time of writing. Full of hope but also skeptical, I vowed to test it thoroughly before being seduced by the sleek new design.
I took it straight to the test bench, hooked it up to my load test equipment, taped a temperature monitoring probe to the side and cranked it up to full power. And there it stayed for 24 hours without the rock-solid voltage output fluctuating even once. The temperature reached 42.9ºC / 109ºF – a great result compared to the 51ºC / 124ºF that the RG67 reached. Not satisfied yet, I tested every voltage the RG68 could deliver at full rated power, as well as each USB port individually and then all three at once.
The RG68 passed every test with flying colors.
And of course, this also applies to (almost) every charger (not to mention the best power banks) I’ve tested from the well-known brands. But the Novoo 67W managed to do it at a fraction of the price.
More power!
Not happy with that, I also tested the larger Novoo 120W RG120 charger ($31.99 / £39.99 AU$69.99) – something had to go wrong, right? According to Novoo, it delivers up to 100W of power from a single port, and 120W when two or three ports are used.
The RG120 also performed very well in the same tests, easily delivering rated power on each port. The peak temperature was 46.7ºC / 116ºF – still not too hot to touch and a good result for a powerful charger running at full load. Although the RG120 is twice the size of the RG68, it’s ideal for high-end laptop owners – although I find the larger size and weight a bit clunky at times.
For reference, the Novoo RG67 ($25.99 / £26.99 / AU$35.99) is the older model – it gets hot (up to 51°C / 124°F, as mentioned) and can only maintain full power for 30 minutes, making the RG68 a much better deal.
Why is the Novoo R68 interesting?
Sure, the RG68 can charge a laptop or phone (or three devices at once), supports the latest fast-charging protocols, is efficient, and very compact – but is that enough to consider Novoo over well-known brand names like Ugreen and Anker?
Yes. And there are some good reasons for that.
First off, the RG68 is pretty darn affordable. I usually warn people against plugging their thousand-dollar devices into cheap chargers, but in this case, Novoo offers the build quality of a much higher-end option. The normal price of $18.99 / £26.99 / AU$39.99 is a great deal for a high-quality 67W charger at the best of times, but Novoo occasionally offers discounts on Amazon.
In comparison, the equally compact Anker Nano II 65W single-port charger typically costs twice as much, and even the excellent yet affordable Ugreen 65W Nexode 3-port charger only reaches the price of RG68 at a steep discount.
Novoo also stands out with a two-year warranty – just like Belkin and Cygnett. Anker gives 18 months, while Ugreen doesn’t even list a warranty period on Amazon. The Novoo team is also very responsive, and when I mentioned that their support pages didn’t include the manuals for the chargers sold in Australia, they were quick to add them.
While I love the RG68, Novoo isn’t perfect. While they still sell the older RG67, they don’t warn users (on the product page or in the manual) that the charger can’t maintain full power for more than 30 minutes.

What Novoo doesn’t say
There’s one important detail missing from the RG68 (and RG120) product page and manual. Both chargers support PPS (Programmable Power Supply). This means that your device will communicate with the charger via the USB cable and request just the right voltage and amperage to ensure the fastest, most efficient charge. PPS is used by most new phones and enables Super Fast Charging 2.0 for the Samsung Galaxy range and ensures that your new Google Pixel 9 or iPhone charges at full speed.
PPS support is a great feature and Novoo should definitely include it on the product page.
What if you want a charger with a larger or smaller wattage?
The range of Novoo chargers is somewhat limited. Alongside the 67W RG68, there’s the excellent 120W RG120 charger and the best-avoided 67W dual-port RG67 charger. But nothing smaller – at least not in Australia.
While I think a 65W charger (or so) is perfect for everyday use, alternatives in the 30W range can be much smaller and cheaper – especially if you just need a basic phone charger. While it’s hard to beat the oh-so-tiny 30W Anker 511 or the affordable 33W Anker 323 dual port charger, Ugreen offers a great range of low-wattage chargers. There’s the 35W Nexode 2-Port, the tiny Ugreen 30W Single Port Mini Charger, or the phone-focused 20W model, which is even cheaper. All five of these chargers perform very well in testing.
