You’ve heard of haunted houses, but what about real haunted places in Florida? As it turns out, Florida has quite a few haunted places that are perfect for visiting during the fall months. So what is by far the most haunted place in Florida?

Florida: The most haunted place

Several experts have listed their favorite haunted places in Florida, and one place in particular stands out. The experts at Ghostsandgravestones.com and WESH highlight the St. Augustine Lighthouse as one of the best haunted places in Florida, and perhaps the most haunted place. “Built in 1874, this historic lighthouse rises 165 feet above sea level and has 219 steps leading to the magnificent tower, where a Fresnel lens serves as a beacon for incoming ships,” explains Ghosts and Gravestones. “But while this beautiful lighthouse still serves the city, it is also a hotbed of paranormal activity that sheds light on its tragic past in the form of ghostly occurrences.” WESH adds, “Over a century ago, Joseph Andre, one of the lighthouse keepers, fell to his death while painting the outside of the tower. To this day, people say they still feel his presence, and some claim to see him looking out from the top of the tower.”

If you’re traveling out of state and looking for a haunted spot, Timeout.com has a new post on the most haunted Airbnbs in America. “We scoured Airbnb’s most eclectic and spooky listings to find the most haunted Airbnbs in America, from spooky castles to eerie guest rooms to mysterious mansions,” they explain. “These spooky rentals offer charming creaky floorboards, whimsical wall paneling and vintage vibes, as well as chills, thrills and scares from spirited ghost hosts straight out of the best Halloween movies of all time.”

The most haunted place in America, according to Timeout.com, is the “Haunted Brothel” in Victor, Colorado. According to the story, after a fire in 1899 destroyed this brothel, casino, and saloon, the place was “rebuilt and carefully restored, bringing with it witty supernatural stories,” according to Timeout.com. So who is the ghost that inhabits this place? It’s not a regular of the bar. It’s a “former miner who died in a shootout.” They also say that some of the taxidermy and artwork that decorates the place are really creepy, which adds a nice spooky touch. They say this place is affordable if you come with a large group. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to stay at any of these places alone, so I say the more the merrier.
