Muni, a neighborhood bar and restaurant from the family behind Waldo Thai and Buck Tui BBQ, opens Friday in the River Market.

The address is 316 Delaware St., formerly home to Tribe Street Kitchen, which closed in December. Owner Ted Liberda described the food as “non-traditional Mexican and Thai.”

“It’s the latest evolution of our brand,” said Liberda, who owns the restaurants with his wife, Pam. “Our restaurants are Latino-run kitchens – people who have worked for us for 15 years or more in some cases. What we serve here is kind of born out of the family meals we eat before the shift.”
