(KRON) – A San Jose restaurant experienced three break-ins in less than a month. The Funny Farm Restaurant informed its patrons and San Jose residents via Instagram that a break-in occurred in August.
The Funny Farm Restaurant posted: “Unlucky number seven!” According to the restaurant, it has been robbed seven times. In the post, the restaurant explained that the building’s ADT security system “did not trigger an alarm.”
A photo provided by the restaurant shows a masked burglar breaking into the office at 4:31 a.m. Saturday. In the photo provided, the burglar was wearing a mask, gloves, a hat and a long-sleeved shirt. The restaurant also posted a photo of broken glass on a lower window.
On August 13, the Funny Farm Restaurant posted that their establishment had been broken into the night before. “We were broken into again last night!!”
The post tagged 8th District Councilman Domingo Candelas, who noted that he would “contact” the San Jose Police Captain and called the break-in “unacceptable.”

On August 16, Funny Farm informed its Instagram followers that the window that was broken during the break-in a few days earlier had been repaired.
According to the establishment, restaurant employees began their shift cleaning up broken glass on August 15, 2023. Funny Farms released surveillance footage of two suspects breaking into the restaurant around 2 a.m. that day. One of the masked suspects smashed the glass door with an object. Once both suspects were inside the building, the alarm went off and the suspects fled in a getaway car.
According to Funny Farm’s website, the restaurant’s cuisine takes “everyday classics” and puts them in “absolutely crazy and wonderful” ways. The restaurant is located at 4898 San Felipe Rd. in San Jose.
KRON4 has reached out to the San Jose Police Department and Funny Farm for more details and is awaiting a response.
