Three teenagers arrested after car crash into tobacco shop in Hudson

HUDSON – Hudson Police Chief Richard P. DiPersio announced the arrest of three juveniles early Saturday morning following a break-in and theft at a local tobacco store.

Officers responded to a burglary alarm at the DAB Smoke Shop at 234 Washington Street at 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

They found that the entrance to the store had been destroyed, presumably by a vehicle backing into it.

The suspects had left the scene of the accident, whereupon Hudson Police alerted surrounding police departments and looked for a vehicle with rear-end damage.

Shortly thereafter, a Marlborough police officer, assisted by a Massachusetts State Police officer, stopped a vehicle matching the description.

The occupants, three male juveniles aged 15, 16 and 17 from Boston, Quincy and Danvers, were arrested following the traffic stop.

Police said they found stolen goods from the DAB Smoke Shop in the vehicle.

The vehicle was seized and two of the youths are being held on bail while the third has been released to his legal guardians.

The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in Framingham Juvenile Court.

Chief DiPersio praised the cooperation of the authorities involved and emphasized their strong message against break-ins and thefts in local businesses.

The charges remain allegations, and the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
