Three major forest fires are burning across Southern California, affecting large areas and prompting evacuations. The fires, fueled by dry conditions and strong winds, are threatening homes and other structures in several counties and have left thousands of residents homeless. Together, the Bridge Fire, Line Fire and Airport Fire have burned tens of thousands of acres and continue to pose challenges to firefighting efforts.

“These three simultaneous fires are putting a strain on fire department resources,” Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said as his department tried to contain the bridge fire. “We’re asking Northern California and neighboring states for resources.”

Below you will find interactive maps that show in real time where the fires are raging, where they are spreading, which areas are under evacuation orders and what the air quality is like.

According to Cal Fire, the Bridge Fire near Glendora in the San Gabriel Mountains has spread to over 47,904 acres. Crews are battling difficult terrain as they try to protect homes and contain the fire, which threatens surrounding communities that have been forced to evacuate. Interactive map
