Tim Walz’s family shares a photo supporting Trump for president

Members of Tim Walz’s extended family shared a photo wearing T-shirts in support of former President Donald Trump.

In the photo of the eight relatives, they are seen wearing grammatically incorrect “Walz’s for Trump” T-shirts, standing in front of a “Trump 2024” flag that also says, “Take America back.”

The image was shared by a family friend and posted on X by Charles Herbster, a former Republican gubernatorial candidate in Nebraska, where the Democratic vice presidential candidate grew up.

“Tim Walz’s family in Nebraska wants to share something with you,” Herbster wrote on X.

Trump also shared it on his Truth Social profile.

A spokesman for Herbster said Newsweek that the people in the picture are related to Walz through his great uncle – his grandfather’s brother. The family is said to have allowed Herbster to share the picture online.

The photo comes after Walz’s brother, Florida resident Jeff Walz, said NewsNation that he had no plans to express any political endorsement after his critical Facebook posts about Kamala Harris’ running mate came to light.

On Facebook, Jeff Walz wrote that his brother was “not the type of person you want making decisions about your future.”

He added that he had “thought long and hard” about publicly supporting Trump, but said NewsNation that he does not want to get involved in politics.

“It was not my intention, it was not our intention as a family, to publish anything to influence the public,” he said.

“I got a lot of feedback from my friends and old acquaintances who thought I felt the same way as my brother on this issue, and I tried to make that clear only to my friends,” added Jeff Walz. “I used Facebook, which was not the right platform for this. But I have to say, I don’t agree with his politics.”

The Facebook posts were initially seen by ^ “New York Post: The New York Post”.

Still, Trump seemed to believe that Jeff Walz had endorsed him, writing on Truth Social: “Thank you, Jeff. It is a great honor to have your endorsement. I look forward to meeting you soon!”

Jeff Walz, who is not seen in the new group photo, said on Facebook that he could tell “stories” about why he didn’t want his brother at the top.

“Nobody wanted to sit with him because he got sick in the car and kept throwing up and things like that,” said Jeff Walz NewsNation“There’s really nothing else hidden there. People suspect something else. There are other stories like this, but I think this probably gives you an idea.”

The Independent has contacted the Harris campaign team and is trying to reach Herbster for a statement.
