Tori Spelling Says Brian Austin Green Inspired Her to Join ‘DWTS’ (Exclusive)

Tori Spelling reveals which of her famous friends inspired her to finally move on Dancing with the stars.

Spelling sat down with PEOPLE on Wednesday, September 4, after it was announced that she would be joining season 33 as Pasha Pashkov’s partner. The actress admits that she always doubted her ability to compete on the dance competition show and says she’s excited.

“I had been offered it before and I really wanted to do it – I’m such a huge fan – and I was just too scared to ever say yes,” she admits.

This time, Spelling, one of her Beverly Hills, 90210 Her co-stars encouraged her to accept the challenge.

“Brian Austin Green knew the whole time I got that call,” she says. “So I kept thinking, ‘I don’t know if I should do it or not,’ but he was like, ‘You’re going to be great, you have to do this.'”

The Troop Beverly Hills Alum’s connection to Green, who appeared in season 30 of DWTS with her fiancée Sharna Burgess was also a reason for her to join the show. Spelling says she hasn’t gotten any dance tips from Burgess yet, but she has consulted her while she waited to find her partner.

“From the beginning, I asked, ‘Sharna, who do you think I’m going to get as a partner?'” Spelling explains. “And she literally looked through all of them and said, ‘He’s great and he would work for you,’ and when she told me everything, she was like, ‘This one would be perfect for you,'” Spelling continues, pointing at Pashkov.

“So when I walked in (and saw Pashkov), I thought, ‘Oh my God, Sharna was right!'” she adds.
