Everton lost their opening game 3-0 to Brighton. Kaoru Mitoma scored the first goal in the first half and things were in disarray when Ashley Young was sent off after an hour. After staving off the threat of relegation for two seasons, Everton will be hoping to turn things around this season to avoid major financial worries.
