Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma returns after nitrous oxide ban

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Yves Bissouma is available for the game against Everton on Saturday after serving a suspension for the opening game of the season against Leicester City.

Bissouma was suspended by the club after a video was posted on social media showing him inhaling laughing gas.

“Biss is available, but we still have some options. The whole idea of strengthening the squad is geared towards such situations. He is available for selection. The bridge-building continues,” said Postecoglou at a press conference on Friday.

However, Spurs will have to do without new signing Dominic Solanke in the match against Everton as the striker has sustained an ankle injury.

Spurs signed the 26-year-old England international from Bournemouth this month for a reported fee of £65 million ($85.25 million) and he started the match at Leicester which ended 1-1.

“Dom sustained an injury in the last game,” said Postecoglou. “He survived the game, but the day after the injury flared up again and he will miss the game tomorrow.”

“It’s an ankle injury. He sustained it very early on, someone ran over his ankle.”

Solanke, who played in all 38 Premier League games last season, scored 19 goals to help Bournemouth to their highest points tally in the top flight.

Uruguayan international Rodrigo Bentancur is also unavailable for the game as he has to undergo a concussion.

Postecoglou said Spurs could make further changes to their squad before the transfer window closes.

“There will probably be a few more going out, but we have put in quite a lot of work over the last 12 months, significantly reducing the demographic and bringing in players who fit the way we play. But there is still a lot to do,” he said.
