Townsquare Media renames Missoula sports channel KGRIZ after becoming flagship of Montana Grizzlies

Townsquare Media has announced a new brand for its Missoula sports radio station, KGRIZ, after signing a new deal that makes it the radio flagship of the University of Montana Grizzlies.

Montana Grizzlies men’s and women’s football and basketball games will now be heard on KGRZ 1450/92.7 under a seven-year agreement between the company and the university. They were previously heard on news/talk sister station KGVO.

“As we begin this exciting new chapter, we are also proud to introduce our newly branded KGRIZ,” Market President Scott Richman said in a press release. “Together, we look forward to amplifying the spirit of Grizzly Athletics and providing exceptional coverage to our loyal fans and community.”

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Townsquare Media to provide Griz fans with even more coverage of our student-athletes, coaches and programs,” added Kent Haslam, Montana’s athletic director. “Townsquare and KGVO have been great partners for many years, and expanding our presence with daily coverage on KGRIZ will truly provide us with some of the best and most in-depth content in the FCS.”

The station will continue to broadcast the FOX Sports Radio program, but has added an afternoon show from 5 to 6 p.m. called The daily ride with Ace SauerweinThe show will feature Riley Corcoran, the radio voice of the Grizzlies, every Monday and Thursday throughout the season.
