Track NYC flight delays, airport ground stops, and transit alerts as Debby looms

With former Hurricane Debby forecast to bring severe storms to New York City, air travelers and commuters alike are bracing for massive delays and hassle.

According to FlightAware, travelers at LaGuardia and Newark airports can expect delays of 30 minutes to an hour this morning.

New York City’s official emergency reporting system has issued a travel advisory for Friday due to heavy rain and possible flash flooding, particularly during the evening rush hour.

NJ Transit is already experiencing delays on some lines because trees have fallen on overhead power lines.

The storm, which is approaching from the east, promises to bring occasional heavy rains, severe, isolated thunderstorms, strong winds and dangerous rip currents. A tornado warning has been issued for parts of New Jersey and New York.
