Tragic end to search for missing newlywed nurse in Portland: Neighbor arrested

A recently married Portland nurse was found dead after being reported missing earlier this week.

Officials found the remains of 32-year-old Melissa Jubane three days after her coworkers, friends and neighbors reported her disappearance – which was unusual for the dedicated nurse.

Concerns about her safety arose after she failed to report for her morning shift at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland on September 4.

Well-wishers immediately called police and around 10:00 a.m. officers arrived at Melissa’s apartment at 1050 SW 160th Avenue in Beaverton to check on her well-being.
