Trailer for the return of the 5th season of “Yellowstone” shows the Dutton dynasty in chaos

To steal a line from the game of Thrones Spinoff…the new teaser trailer for Yellowstone The final episodes of the fifth season reveal the cold, hard truth: the only thing that can destroy the Dutton family is itself.

The first footage from the long-awaited episode series for Season 5, Part 2 arrived Friday morning in the form of a 30-second preview. It begins with Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, who we know will not be in the next few episodes. Nevertheless, his character seems to be involved in some Capacity.

“Legacy,” he says. “If you build something valuable, someone will try to take it away from you.”

The first look then turns to his children. Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) threateningly tells his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille): “What I do, I do not do for the ranch, I do for us.” We then see him trying to remain incognito in his black Carhartt hoodie while holding a gun hidden inside.

The fate of the ranch still seems to be in danger. Lloyd Pierce (Forrie J. Smith), one of the older Dutton cowboys, seems to be preparing for the worst. “I’ve lived here my whole life,” he tells Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), who replies, “Me too.”

And of course siblings Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) argue, but even that seems to be escalating. “If you destroy me, you destroy yourself,” he warns someone on the phone as footage of a raid on an FBI office is shown and Beth slaps him. “Unlike you, I keep my promises,” she warns back.

Yellowstone The remaining episodes of Season 5 will air on Sunday, November 10th on the Paramount Network, which will be a pivotal moment for fans of the series for several reasons.

Costner, an integral part of Yellowstone who has been around since the beginning, confirmed in June that he would not be appearing in Season 5B, leading many to believe that his character could be killed off in one way or another in the story as the ongoing war for the Dutton Dynasty rages on.

“I just want to let you know that after these one and a half years of working on Horizon and all the tasks that come with it and thinking about Yellowstoneof this beloved series that I love and know you love, I just realized that I cannot continue Season 5B or the future,” Costner said at the time in a video statement posted to social media. “It was something that really changed me. I loved it and I know you loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I will not be returning. I love the relationship that we were able to build and I will see you at the movies.”
