The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a good start in the new NFL season.

It was another exciting game, but the Chiefs took the win thanks to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – and a crucial field goal from Harrison Butker – to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 26-25. on Sunday, September 15, in their second game since winning Super Bowl LVIII in February.

The teams scored field goals in the first quarter before the Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow, took a 16-10 lead into halftime. A long drive by the Chiefs early in the second half gave them a touchdown and their first lead of the game, but the Bengals quickly answered with a touchdown of their own.

Both quarterbacks had rough outings at times – Mahomes threw two interceptions and a fumble by Burrow early in the fourth quarter gave the Chiefs a late 23-22 lead. The Bengals had one final field goal to retake the lead, but a 51-yard field goal by Butker saved the game for the Chiefs, giving them the win and handing Cincinnati its second loss of the season.

Cheering on the home team was Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, who sat with her friends Danielle and Este Haim, as well as her brother Austin Swift and her mother Andrea Swift. in the tight end’s friends and family suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Later in the game, Swift, 34, was joined by Chariah Gordan, the fiancée of Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. The two were seen jumping up and down and screaming after Butker sealed the win.

Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, also supported the team on Sunday. The 28-year-old Kansas City Current owner — who recently made headlines for appearing to support Donald Trump — stood on the sidelines before kickoff with the couple’s children: Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 1. The couple is currently expecting their third child.

Swift was all smiles as she cheered on her boyfriend, just days after thanking him onstage at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

Swift referred to Kelce as her “boyfriend” when she accepted the award for best collaboration with Post Malone for their “Fortnight” music video, and said that Kelce was on set “cheering” the pair on after each take.

Fans pointed out that Swift’s speech was the first time she said his name publicly and referred to him as her boyfriend.

The 2024 VMA Artist of the Year said of Kelce during the awards ceremony in New York City on September 11: “Everything that man touches turns into happiness, fun and magic. So I want to thank him for bringing that to our shoot because I will never forget that.”

Kelce seemed pleased with his girlfriend’s televised recognition as he “liked” a clip of Swift’s speech shared on MTV’s Instagram.
