Travis Kelce PR says Taylor Swift’s ‘Showmance’ contract is fake

Travis Kelce PR says Taylor Swift’s ‘Showmance’ contract is fake

They were the showbiz-sports crossover couple who seemingly had it all: public declarations of affection, lucrative contracts, countless paparazzi sightings and the fascination of millions of fans. Now Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have what no celebrity couple really wants – a crisis over whether their love story is even real.

Fans of the couple were stunned on Wednesday after photos of an alleged contract suggesting their romance was all for show went viral on Reddit.

The images of the alleged separation plan, printed under the Full Scope Public Relations logo, describe in detail how the company will handle the planned separation of Swift and Kelce, which is dated September 28, 2024. It also outlines the exact wording and timing of when Kelce should announce the separation, as well as who he should interview afterward.

Jack Ketsoyan, Kelce’s press secretary and founder of Full Scope, told the Daily Mail that the memo’s photos were “completely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency.” He also told the website he has hired a lawyer to “commence proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and damaging forgery,” although it is unclear how Ketsoyan plans to find the person responsible for creating the document.

And yet, Ketsoyan has already admitted to using “showmances” – fake celebrity romances that he presents to the public – in a 2019 podcast interview. In a conversation heard on Mamamia’s Australian podcast The Quicky, Ketsoyan said, “I’ve had two (showmances) in my career.” He then explained, “The biggest clue would be if a certain well-known man is dating a woman who is not as well-known, and suddenly overnight that person is the most talked-about girl in Hollywood and everyone wants a piece of her.”

“It’s such a career boost for a woman that some women take the deal because it makes them a household name overnight,” he continued. In Swift and Kelce’s case, of course, the genders are reversed – and Ketsoyan was happy to explain how that works.

“To be honest, it’s more unusual for men than for women,” he said, because “there are certain celebrities who didn’t come out in the past and it wasn’t OK to come out. We live in a very different time now.” Although times have changed for gay male celebrities, “it still happens” that a more famous woman will date a less famous man for publicity, which some fans say could also apply to Swift and Kelce.

“It’s about selling the hype – whether it’s a concert, an album, or getting people to go to the movie, right now it’s all about the hype,” Ketsoyan added. Despite these scathing comments, one thing seems to support his claim that the documents are fake: They “read like a school assignment” or like they were created by ChatGPT, as some social media users have noted.

Others commented, “Now they won’t break up on September 28th and they’ll do anything to make it look real.” Or as another wrote, “Now they have to have three kids just to prove otherwise.”
