Travis Kelce sent Taylor Swift into ecstasy in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium after helping Patrick Mahomes put himself in the history books again for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Mahomes picked off tight end Kelce on a 23-yard pass in the second quarter. It was Kelce’s first big moment of the game, but for Mahomes, it was a historic moment.

With those 23 yards, Mahomes became the Chiefs’ all-time leading passer, surpassing Hall of Famer Len Dawson.

When Kelce caught the ball, Swift jumped up from her seat and hugged Kelce’s mother, Donna, who was sitting next to her during the 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.

By Kelce’s impeccable standards, it was a quieter game than usual on opening night, but his team recorded a decisive win against a significant opponent and took the first step toward a possible third straight victory.

Mahomes needed just 84 yards to surpass Dawson – who had 28,507 yards with the Chiefs – and he did it in the second quarter when he found Kelce.

A seven-time Pro Bowl quarterback, Dawson played 14 of his 19 NFL seasons with the Chiefs (including one season with the Dallas Texans, who moved to Kansas City and became the Chiefs in 1963). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.

Mahomes is in his seventh season as Kansas City’s starting quarterback after appearing in just one game as a rookie in 2017.

He has been named to six Pro Bowl teams, won two MVP awards and led the team to three Super Bowl titles since being selected 10th overall by the franchise in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Swift, meanwhile, was back at Arrowhead after cheering on Kelce and the Chiefs in 13 games last season as they won their second consecutive Super Bowl title.

She was not seen sitting next to Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, although they cheered on the Chiefs side by side at several games last season.

Brittany had previously publicly expressed her support for Donald Trump to win the election later this year – a view that contradicts Swift’s statement that she supported Hillary Clinton, not Trump, in the 2016 election.
