Trenton Simpson says it’s “great” to be on the team with Nate Wiggins

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Nate Wiggins in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He is expected to play a big role as a young member of Baltimore’s defense, but he is not the only former Clemson star to fill that role with the Ravens this year.

Wiggins’ college teammate Trenton Simpson was selected in the third round in 2023, meaning the two will be reunited in Baltimore. Simpson was asked if he would play with Wiggins again, to which he said it would be “great” to have Wiggins back on his team.

“It was great. It was just great that we were at Clemson and grew together, won a couple games together and were on the ACC championship team with (Nate Wiggins). But I just see him being here every day and competing. I mean, he’s young, just like I was last year, so it’s great that he’s asking ‘Marlo’ (Marlon Humphrey) questions, ‘B. Steve’ (Brandon Stephens) questions, because the veterans that we have in this organization, they take on all the guys, and I think that’s good for enhancing a lot of guys’ careers.”

Simpson had a lot of good things to say about Wiggins, a player the Ravens will need to get playing well to continue to be a top defense in the NFL this season. Both Clemson graduates hopefully have big things ahead of them and have the tools for long and successful careers.
