Trump holds rally in Wilmington

Trump holds rally in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that he will hold a rally in Wilmington on Saturday, September 21st at 2 p.m.

The previous rally was cancelled due to the weather.

This rally will take place at the Aero Center Wilmington, 1830 Flightline Road, Wilmington.

Doors open at 10am, Trump’s speeches begin at 2pm

WECT will live stream the rally at the top of this story, on the WECT Facebook page and on the WECT News app.

The North Carolina Democratic Coordinated Campaign Rapid Response released the following statement in response to the rally:

“Donald Trump, JD Vance and Mark Robinson are all campaigning on the extreme ‘Project 2025’ agenda, which would strip North Carolina citizens of their freedoms and raise taxes on working families across the state. Voters here don’t want Trump and his MAGA allies like Robinson trampling on our rights and freedoms. When Trump and Vance come to Wilmington and Raleigh next week, we will make it clear: We are not going back.”

Nevin Carr, chairman of the New Hanover County Republican Party, also texted WECT the following:

“Whatever you think of Trump, you have to respect someone who cares so much about our country that he continues to demonstrate publicly after such a serious attack. The man was just millimeters away from losing his life, and yet he stood up – with a bravery we have never seen from a politician in our lifetime. We are grateful for politicians who are willing to stand up for us, no matter the circumstances.”

Tickets are available here.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: According to the New York Times, “Project 2025, a set of conservative policy proposals compiled by a Washington think tank for a Republican presidential administration, did not originate directly with Trump or his campaign. Yet CNN has documented that 140 people who worked for the Trump administration were involved in Project 2025. Some were Trump’s top advisers in his first term and will almost certainly hold prominent posts should he win a second term.)
