“Trump was so bad”: Fox News voting panel declares Harris the winner of the debate

A Fox News panel of voters said Vice President Kamala Harris emerged victorious against former President Donald Trump in Tuesday night’s debate, in which the two candidates clashed on the economy, foreign policy, immigration and abortion.

When asked who they thought won the debate, 12 voters on the Fox News panel raised their hands for Harris, while five did so for Trump, the network reported.

“Trump was so bad,” said one panelist. “He’s like an old suit from 1987 now. He just repeats himself.”

“And she’s refreshing because she’s different,” the voter continued, referring to Harris. “I think if he had taken a different line of attack with her, it would have been more effective.”

Another member of the panel suggested that Trump was having difficulty adjusting to his new opponent. In June, Trump debated President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race shortly thereafter and endorsed Harris as his successor at the top of the Democratic ticket.

“In his mind, he’s still basically trying to run against Joe Biden,” the voter said.

When asked for comment, a Trump campaign spokesman pointed out Newsweek to the following statement from Trump’s senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles: “President Trump delivered a masterful debate performance tonight, denouncing Kamala Harris’s abysmal record of failure that has harmed Americans over the past four years.

“We saw President Trump lay out his bold vision for America and how he would build on the successes of his first term by growing the economy, securing the border and stopping crime from ravaging communities across the country.

“Conversely, Kamala’s vision of America was a grim reminder of Joe Biden’s repressive, big-government policies, which she seeks to continue. High inflation, a porous border that allows criminals and terrorists to flow in, and a soft approach to crime – that’s what Kamala stands for.

“The election couldn’t be clearer – President Trump was the clear winner tonight, and he will win for America when he returns to the White House.”

Newsweek The Harris campaign team emailed outside of normal business hours asking for comment.

However, members of the panel also criticized Harris. One voter said that while the vice president knows how to speak to people’s hearts, she feels she avoids certain issues.

“She did a good job for the viewers at home,” said another. “But at the end of the day, she and President Joe Biden have been in office for three years now, almost four years, and they still haven’t accomplished anything.”

Another panelist said Harris was “weak” both in terms of content and facts.

A snap poll conducted by CNN after the debate was also positive for Harris.

The snap poll, which had a margin of error of 5.4 percent, found that 63 percent of viewers believed Harris won the debate, while 37 percent said the same of Trump.

Before Tuesday’s debate, the source revealed that expectations regarding the winner were split 50-50.

“This is a complete reversal from what we saw in June,” said CNN political director David Chalian. “It was 67 percent to 33 percent, two-thirds thought Trump had won, only a third thought Biden had won. A complete reversal.”

An analysis of Newsweek After the debate, it emerged that Harris’ chances of winning the presidential election in November had improved at 20 leading bookmakers.
