Two cannabis seizures at Toronto Pearson Airport totalling 32 kilograms within one week

Two separate incidents at Toronto Pearson International Airport last week resulted in the seizure of 32 kilograms of cannabis. Both incidents involved individuals attempting to purchase cannabis outside of Canada.

To July 25, 2024CBSA stopped Kerry Maddisona Canadian citizen after she was found to have approximately 23.25 kg of cannabis hidden in her luggage. July 28, 2024CBSA stopped Stanford Wintera permanent resident of Canada after 8.8 kg of cannabis were found hidden in his luggage.

The CBSA seized the cannabis and the RCMP Federal Policing Central Region arrested and charged the two individuals:

  • Kerry Maddison36, possession for the purpose of export contrary to Section 11(2) of the Cannabis law
  • Stanford Winter53, possession for the purpose of export contrary to Section 11(2) of the Cannabis law

Both Maddison and Wint are scheduled to return on 2. 5 September 2024.
